OK, Who Needs SquareDash?

When I set out to create SquareDash, I knew from the very beginning that it wouldn’t be right for every roofer and restoration contractor. And that’s just fine with me. People have different goals and motivations, and it’s never been my intent to make SquareDash a one-size-fit-all solution.

So, here’s the deal.

SquareDash is designed for contracting companies that want to grow. Simple as that.

As we all know, growth takes capital. The old saying, “It takes money to make money” has never been more true than it is for contractors. But the broken insurance payments system cripples cash flow for even the most successful contractors who rely on insurance checks to get paid.

When you’re waiting 60 days, or even longer,  to collect the depreciation on one job, but have new jobs that are ready to start, that often creates a situation where your expenses are seriously out of sync with your receivables.

As I described in a previous blog, my own roofing company nearly went bankrupt a few years back—not because we weren’t successful, but because we sold so many jobs that we experienced extreme pain trying to fund the costs of getting those jobs off the ground. Ironically, our growth nearly put us out of business. (If that’s not a broken system, what is?)

With SquareDash, you just need to upload an approved insurance claim to our platform. Once your homeowner has paid their deductible, we’ll transfer the ACV to your account in 1-2 days. And when the job is complete—same deal—here comes the depreciation payment in 1-2 days.

Look, if you’re a small contracting firm that does a handful of jobs a month, you’re able to cover your expenses without incurring significant debt, and you’re not particularly interested in growing your business, you might not need SquareDash. Or, if you’re an eccentric billionaire who just does contracting gigs for fun—yeah, we’re probably not a fit. (But let’s hang out sometime!)
