Making the Most of May

“April showers bring May Flowers”—that’s a nice sentiment, but how about some May storms to get the season rolling? Whether you’re already working affected areas or are still waiting for that first big hail event, there’s a lot you can do in May to make sure you’re locked and loaded. 

May we suggest:

Train, train, train.

If you’re fully staffed at this point, that’s half the battle. Now’s the time to go deep on training those new hires to make sure everyone is on the same page, and working as effectively and efficiently as possible. 

Keep running those marketing campaigns. 

When the storms come, it’ll be a huge advantage if homeowners already know who you are. Keep those marketing efforts going full-speed ahead so that you can maximize your future sales efforts.

Load up your cash reserves.
You wouldn’t go hunting without plenty of ammunition, so don’t go into peak storm season without the cash you need to start those jobs, cover your increased expenses, and grow your business! Need help with cash flow? I know a guy! 🤣

Complete your policy and procedure trial runs.

Up for a little role play? At work, I mean? As you finalize your policies and procedures, make sure to complete a series of real-time trials to give the team valuable practice and identify any training gaps that need to be addressed. 

Confirm that your reference customers are good to go.

Finally for May—work on those references! Even if you’re pretty sure that a former customer will say nice things about you, reach out to them to remind them that they may be getting a call or two, and how much you would appreciate their positive reference.
